Here are some tips and tricks to make your own spa space during the times of uncertainty.


Step 1:

Turn your home into a sanctuary. Light delicious scented candles and play relaxing music. One of our favourites is:

Step 2:

We recommend sitting in with a cup of herbal tea for about half an hour first. Slowly relax so that you are in the right mindset. Turn off your phone and shut out the outside world. 

Step 3:

A facial steam is a great way to start.

Boil a pot of water, add it to a large bowl, open up a bag or herbal tea and pour in the contents. Then put your face above the bowl and cover a towel over your head. This will help to clear your pores, your sinuses and release any tension in your face. 

Step 4:

Create your own lemon face mask. Lemons contain AHAs and BHAs, two types of hydroxy acid that remove dead skin cells and help clear up blackheads, acne, and discolouration. Create a homemade face mask by mixing the juice from one lemon with 1/4 cup olive oil or sweet almond oil. Or mix the juice of 1/2 lemon with a tablespoon of honey. Apply to your face, wait 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water.

Step 5:

A hair mask is a great way to make all of you feel great and fresh. 

We recommend either buying a hair mask, or if you can't leave the house watch this video on how to make your own hair mask with household items. 

Step 6:
Give yourself a reflexology massage. We know that might sound daunting but with these tips it's actually very simple, and very rewarding. First grab your oil or cream. Lightly apply the cream to the hand or foot (your choice!). A good wrist/ankle rotation to the right and left is a great way to encourage mobility and release stiffness. Start by gently squeezing your hand or foot to increase circulation. Then stimulate your reflex points by using a technique called thumb walking. Step 7:
Finish off your spa day with a relaxing bubble bath. You can add epsom salts to your bath to help ease your muscles and calm your nerves. You may even want to open that book you've been dying to read and have some me time.
