BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

All arriving passengers are required to have received at least one dose of a World Health Organization (WHO) approved 2-dose COVID 19 vaccine or a single dose vaccine to be permitted entry into Antigua and Barbuda and do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test. Children below the age of eighteen (18) years arriving at a port of entry are exempted from this requirement.

All travellers are also subject to assessment by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and The Environment (also referred to within this document as the Quarantine Authority), for signs and symptoms through a series of checks and the completion of a health declaration form on arrival.

 BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. MINIMUM STAY

Minimum Stay is 2 nights in any of The Great House Antigua suites. 

2. RATES

All rates are subject to change without notice. The daily rate includes three meals a day, served on site. No reimbursements are provided for meals not taken by guests. Rates include all fruit drinks offered. 

Price is set per suite, per night. 

Government Tax;

From  June 2020 ABST is included in all hotel suites rates.

ABST is set at 14% and service charge is 10%

Tourism Guest Levy (TGL) has been introduced by the Antigua & Barbuda government from 1 October 2021.

US$5 per night, per person, is due to be paid by each guest on check-out of The Great House Antigua. 

A copy of guests credit cards will be taken on arrival and kept on record during guests stay. 

3. CANCELLATION AND NO-SHOW

All cancellations of reservations must be notified to The Great House Antigua in writing/ by email and will take effect on the day received by the hotel. 

Due to our small size cancellations affect us significantly. Therefore, we adhere to a very strict cancellation policy.  Cancellations made 36 days or more prior to arrival will result in no cancellation penalty.  However cancellations, regardless of the season, made within 35 days of your confirmed date (or no shows) will result in full payment due and no refund. Changes to the reservations within the 35 day cancellation period or failure to occupy the room for the entire period reserved will result in a cancellation policy up to a maximum of 3 nights.

4. PAYMENT

Payment Policy: A 30% deposit is required at booking. Full Pre-Payment is required at least 10 days prior to the guest’s arrival, paid in US$ funds. An invoice will be raised on receipt of booking. Bookings made within 10 days of guest arrival must be paid in full 1 day prior guest arrival.

 

All additional billings and charges are in United States dollars on departure and are subject to foreign exchange rate fluctuations and/or rates prevailing in your country on the date of transaction. Any refund or deposit reimbursement would be exclusively issued in U.S Dollars. All additional purchases are subject to 15% ABST charge

5. Adults Only

The Great House Antigua is 18+ only.

6. MEALS 

The Great House Antigua provides 3 meals a day to guests, on-site. Meals missed are not reimbursed. 

The Great House Antigua staff will set where meals take place. Guests are to book times to dine. 

It is the guests responsibility to inform The Great House Antigua staff of any allergies or intolerance. The Great House Antigua team are not responsible or liable for any allergic reactions as a result of food consumed. 

7. ALCOHOL POLICY

Great House Antigua team can deny guests further alcohol if they are effecting other guests, the staff or the property in a negative manner. 

All alcoholic drinks are chargeable to the guests room and payment is required in full on the day of departure. 

8. CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT

Check-in time is 2 P.M. Minimum age for check in is 18 years. Check-out time is 11 A.M.  A late checkout can be requested but is at discretion of the hotel based on availability and maybe chargeable. Please note that late check out fees do not include meals & drinks.  

9. DRESS CODE

The Great House Antigua respectfully request that our guests dress appropriately when enjoying our facilities and advise that clothing suitable for the pool and beach should not be worn in the restaurants. Cover-ups should be worn during the day while at breakfast or lunch and we request that no beach wear is worn in the public areas after 7:30pm.

10. SPA FACILITIES/CLASSES

The Great House Antigua accepts no responsibility for guests by the pool, there is no life-guard on duty. 

Spa treatments are carried out by a third-party practitioner. 

Rescheduling a treatment 4 hours or less from the scheduled time will incur a charge of 50% of the treatment price; rescheduling 2 hours or less will incur a full charge. 
We ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes before your appointment. Treatments will be held in your suite or on the vacant cottage verandas.
Please note that if you are late, your treatment time will be modified and the full price will be applied. 

All guests should be aware of the terms of staying, using the pool and taking part in the classes. Forms are to be signed upon arrival 

11. CLASSES AND HIKES 

Classes are included in guests stay, dependent on booking site.

Classes must be pre-booked 48 hours before guests arrival to ensure the day and times can be met by practitioners. 

Class request and times cannot always be met. 

Cancellation of classes with less than 48 hours notice may result in a charge. 

The Great House Antigua offers free nature hikes nearby, or transfer fee hikes to nature spots further afield. Times and days dependent. 

All classes, hikes and physical activity is under-taken at the guests own risk and The Great House Antigua is not liable for any medical conditions or damages caused by guests par-taking. Guests should wear appropriate clothing and always carry water. 

12. EXCURSIONS

The Great House Antigua offers tours and excursions operated through third parties for guests. 

Once excursion with third parties have been booked cancellation fees will apply. 

Dates and times for excursions by third parties are dependent on the operator and may not always meet guest requests. 

Third part excursions are only booked through The great House Antigua and thus the hotel is not liable to the trips or experiences offered. 

 

13. LAWS & JURISDICTION

Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with your stay at The Great House Antigua shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Antigua & Barbuda.

14. PASSPORTS

Travel to Antigua & Barbuda requires a valid passport with a minimum of six months’ validity.

15. ROOM ASSIGNMENT

The Great House Antigua cannot commit to or guarantee room assignment requests, therefore room numbers and floor assignments are not confirmed at the time of booking. Any special request will be noted and every effort will be made to accommodate those requests.

16. SMOKING

Smoking in public places is against the law in Antigua & Barbuda. At the Resort all indoor areas including Guest rooms and balconies, restaurants and bars are designated non-smoking areas. 

If the smell of smoke is detected in the room during your stay, a penalty in the amount of US$270.00 per night will be added to your bill for the duration of your stay.

17. TIPPING

Our Guests are invited to leave a gratuity at the end of their stay if they believe the service received to be exceptional. 

18. TRANSFERS

Are carried out by a third party and can be arranged, booked and paid for by The Great House Antigua, on behalf of the guest. Transfers will only be arranged upon request. 

19. DATA PRIVACY

Please be advised that any personal data provided by guests to us in relation to staying at The Great House Antigua may be processed in accordance with the Guest Privacy Notice.
